As an artist and teacher Kate is able to express her art in many ways. With over 50 years of teaching experience, she has taught art to people of all ages from pre-school to adult. Most of her work has been in watercolor although she has been expanding her "canvas."
Her formal education is in science, art education and experiential education. This eclectic mix provides the perfect balance for exploring one of her greatest joys...to be painting or drawing subjects relating to nature. She has taught nature drawing for both the Roger Tory Peterson Institute and the Aldo Leopold Education Project. Her work for institutions like these along with her own love of the great outdoors have taken her to many beautiful places. She has used these opportunities to paint and draw in some amazing locations including Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center, Isle Royale, The Boundary Waters Canoe Area, The Gunflint Trail, the Caribbean and Alaska.
Kate is available for commissioned projects, workshop and seminar instruction and an open chair around the campfire.
